The Naomi Campbell exhibition at the V&A is controversial
I still loved seeing the clothes
I was quite surprised at the reaction from various Fashion Insider pals when I asked them if they’d been to the Naomi Campbell show at the Victoria & Albert museum, the latest in that venerable institution’s run of brilliant fashion exhibitions.
No, said two of them, separately who don’t know each other. Adding words to the effect ‘she’s such a horrible person, I don’t want to glorify her by visiting the exhibition.’
I do know Ms Campbell’s reputation. Hard not to. She’s been convicted of assault four times – not charged, convicted – and has done well-publicised community service for her it.
The last one wearing a $300,000 Dolce & Gabbana dress. To attone for throwing a phone at her maid. Not good.
